Wow, what can I say. What a fantastic time. Tim & Hungry, man you guys, thank you, what an enjoyable day. There's nothing better, at least at my age, than making brass and you guys even made it more fun than usual. Well run, good weather, great course of fire and instruction. Great day all around. Fantastic to meet old CGNers again and new ones for the first time. Tons of pictures were taken and should be up shortly. Anyone that can make one of these, is doing themselves a disservice if they don't go. I won't presume to speak for anyone else, but I'm sure their thought patterns are following my own. You just can't have this much fun anywhere else, legally, for the price.

Great job everyone, and looking forward to the next time.
Again, Tim and Hungry thanks a ton.

Pictures are being edited between bites of Bison steak... :D Will be up tonight sometime... ;)

Why is it every time I go to one of these shoots I'm struck by the absolute "quality" of individual that comes out. Never an ####### in the bunch. GREAT bunch of guys to shoot with, no worries about safety, tons of fun.

Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday with my clothes on... :D

it was at the langemark range, and a great time for sure. Thanks Hungry, Tim, you guys did a wicked job, I learned a lot and had a blast! Highly recommend it and Im definitely in for the next one!

I think I was the only shooter on the line with a Noveske product! Glad to have met a pile of you. Super nice to have a Quebec contingent shoot with us... all the way from Quebec City! Most cool for the ORA to be able to attract so many PQ black rifle owner!!

It was fantastic to see everyone's personal rifle/handgun skills fine tuned throughout the afternoon. Most exciting also to watch many of you fumble with the magazine changes like in that YouTube clip of A Coy Red Devils PPCLI in the 'Stan 2006... :nest: Just go to YouTube is you don't believe me when I advocate, "We need to reinforce magazine changes among the gunfighters!" I'm making this very clear that I ain't trying to slag anyone, just improve our personal skills with the boomsticks. :D

Hey, were there any Colts or LMT's on either relay 1 or 2? I did see some Stag, RRA, Armalite, Eagle, Bushmasters out. Did I forget any other makes? Even the AR180 was out and kicking butt!

These are my views watching only.

Wow Wow WOW! ServiceCQB is not just advance and fire change mags etc. It is a mindset that goes way beyond warfare tactics. One enters a whole new realm of possibilities practising these arts. They are evocative arts. They provide glimpses of not only the possible but the "impossible" too. The mind expands in direct proportion to participation. The participation is the journey. It is THE sh#t! The willingness to release the mind from everything other than the task at hand is intoxicating. In fact, I'm afraid it leads to intoxication : )

Thanks Hungry, Thanks T,

Afrika corps? Hey, people make fun of my neck cover, but if I don't I burn like a...burny... thing.

Thanks to Barney and Tim for running this thing, I had a great time and it was good to meet and chat with so many of you guys. Lots of good folks, and for me that's the big thing. Shooting the guns is lots of fun, but shooting the breeze is almost as much fun. No fun going to an event where people are grumpy tools. None of that out there today!

I'll definately be coming out to the future events, even if there's a precision shoot that day. (Sorry Punisher. :p )

LOL!! Awesome set of pictures and commentary Plink : )

"Holy sh!t..... What did you say???????? "

Well, I think you heard me. After all, you did say...

"Why is it every time I go to one of these shoots I'm struck by the absolute "quality" of individual that comes out. Never an a**hole in the bunch. GREAT bunch of guys to shoot with, no worries about safety, tons of fun.

Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday with my clothes on... "

: )

But besides the fun, humour and comradery Plink, it seems to me that the discipline of performing CQB, Service Rifle, Samurai or any "art" for that matter, allows one to enter a different part of consciousness. A part that only a small segment of "modern" society even imagines exists much less experiences. In my humble opinion, that is why this journey is so intoxicating, so fantastic. It evokes "genetic" memories, instinctual processes that light up a part of our minds long gone dormant by the "sheepifying" process of "civilization".

That is why I said that these arts are evocative. They bring forth a whole new aspect of consciousness, one that many of us (not including Hungry and T : ) didn't even know we had!
So yeah, I second "Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday with my clothes on... " : )

I had a great time. Was nice to put some faces to CGN handles. Learned some of the ins and outs of CQB and Service rifle, and it is another sport that I think I will become addicted to. Can't wait for the matches later on in the year, if they will let me play, seeing as how I am an IPSC shooter, LOL:D.

This is very true! I think people who are into this type of shooting are for the most part of the "warrior" mentality. If that makes sense. We think just a bit different than most. The brain is "wired old style" if you will.

The thing I love about this type of game is the thinking involved. Many think it's as simple as pop in a mag and pull the trigger. There's so much more to it. Personal kit management, time management, knowing your personal weapons inside and out, physical demands, safety... It's all in one neat little package doing this stuff.

Tim and Barney run an excellent show, and I get out to train with them whenever I can, simply because I know what the quality of the product will be when I'm there. I've never had as much fun on a range as I have with those two guys. AND, I've learned a HELL of a lot. Not only from Tim and Barney, but from the people that show up at these things. Every operator there has some piece of knowledge that you can take away with you, that will make you a better shooter next time you're out.

Yesterday's training involved a ton of techniques that many shooters of black rifles never ever will use. Bench shooting an AR is incredibly boring after you run through some of this type of training.
