I was there in 2000, I even have the DCRA medals to prove it.... yeeeeha !

In sincerity, I'm happy that you are offering them up, but I'll wait until other soldiers who were there like NavyShooter come forward. Those were the years of real CFSAC participation and potato guns in the modular tent lines....

Thanks for your kindness.....

Hey... 2001 CFSAC... remember that Dragoon Sgt who sounded like Faulein from Austin Powers ?

"Targets Uuuuaaaip !"

I tasked one of my lads to do the initial planning for a western area small arms competition in May 07. Our planned selection match for CFSAC. Unfortunately due to the op tempo, it will likely not be well supported. CFSAC 07, although planned for 07 is not allocated funds in the SORD. This might be addressed later but it was on "hold" as of an army conference two weeks ago. Given the incredible manning shortfalls for deployment to Afghanistan given the greater force size, I am not sure who will be left to participate. As noted I think 2008 is more realistic for a true CFSAC....

I will of course advise as I get more details....

potato guns in the modular tent lines....

As I recall the "Spud Gun Mortar Line" from our end was raining spud on target :dancingbanana: and the receiving end (tubes) did not have the range....... .....Until the navy boys brewed up a hell of a propellant concoction. That at first was launching their spuds over top of us onto the 900m mound. (+100m of us) But it did not take them long (about 24 beer later) they found the sweet spot of there mixture, and it was :runaway: :runaway: :runaway: on target.

Oh the days. The matches. The Hangovers. I'm still paying off my bar tab from "The Heart & Crown" :D

By the way 4 Stickers left.
Cheers

Hey Morpheus, I just heard about the Western area match. Am already racking my brain for team selection !!!!

Considering that I just announced it at around 1000 today during the LFWA Ops and Trg Conference, you are clearly on the inside track! In May sometime, details to follow. I am going to contract out the running of the competition so no army support....since there is no one available to support...ammo allocations will go out late next week. Contact your Bde G3 Trg for details....but give me a week to get an instruction out....

Cheers

COOL!!

Any word on east coast selection?

BTW, the Navy now has a Semi-auto launcher (15 round hopper feed type magazine on top) that's pneumatically fired. Drops a 35mm film cannister about 100 yards.

Might I suggest the BCRA and Volkes range? They have been running the same match as CFSAC for over 20 years and its all set up already with targets and everything you'd need to run the match.A beautiful range to boot.I have any contacts you might need.

Looks like CFSAC 2007 will be funded and will take place in Sept 07. Dates are still being worked on. The LFWA area match will be in May, again, dates to be confirmed. More to follow, as I have to develop the plan....amongst all the other priorities these days...

Nah, I think everyone should have to come and shoot in sunny Wainwright with Klunk and I.... We might just have a Tim Hortons by then!!

Has DAT released a message or letter to LFA's yet pertaining to CFSAC '07?

We are in the middle of the staff check to confirm the dates and final funding...it will be a little bit before we get the order out so please be patient for my area instruction and the LFDTS instruction....

Got mine too...

Thanks...

Remind me next time you need something from here as well... What goes around, comes around...
