I bought a nice m96 mauser and the rifle is outstanding (fit and finish is very nice), #### on closing bolt is very nice too. I am looking to get a target rifle and both rifle (cg63 and m69) came into play.

What is your opinion on the subject?

I have one of the M69 rifles from tradeex. I find it to be a very well aet up rifle and my most accurate "irons only" rifle. It has shot 1 moa at 100 meters on a day where I was doing my part with some old Privi ammo. 6.5x55 is easy to make work with handloads either way you go. The m69's are built off of captured german M98's and are #### on open. They may or may not have matching bolts, but as the rifles were built back up with trigger jobs and new barrels. Cg63 is based on the #### on close M96 mauser action. Some minor alterations were made to improve lock time by lightening the striker assembly. Functionally they are two sides of the same coin. The 9u action... gas handling superiority yada yada yada. The m96, swedish steel yada yada yada. Both actions will run a 6.5x55 well. The barrels likely came off the same assembly line at Husquvarna/gustafs. If you want to modify it, in the long run go for the 98 actioned M69 as aftermarket support for the german mauser is good and gas handling is superior to the m96.

I have had a few of both but always found that the CG-63's shot tighter groups, I also have a few 7.62mm target rifles built on M98, P14 and M96 actions and my CG-63E in 7.62mm is the best shooter of the lot with the P14 a close second.

Others may have different experiences but that has been mine.

Never had a gas case head rupture in 35 years of careful reloading and shooting so action gas handling has never been a issue and I also don't use my brass till they are showing signs they are about to fail either, max of 8 reloads and then they are discarded.
