Cgn app??

The app is free but it seems you need to pay once you get it so that you can log in or even view the forum as a guest. Although I downloaded a copy I'm not sure how it works as I stopped when I realized that I needed to pay to use it. I've downloaded a lot of apps over the years but have never seen one where you can load it onto your phone for free 1st and then have to pay to make it work, but unless I'm wrong about what happens once you buck up I guess that's the gist of it.
 
May have been fixed. I think a "free" app needs to be free... If it costs money but apple doesn't get a cut I think it violates apples terms of use.

I can use it fine on my android phone too. It always said free for me, never had to agree to pay anything.

being on many forums on the net a guy who is into a certain hobby knows the value of an app for a forum. using an app rather then mobile site dramatically improves battery life and navigation of any device. an app also receives notifications of PM's and recent posts in subscribed threads. $25 is worth it just to improve communication in a deal. nothing is a bigger piss off then PM'ing a CGN'er about an item in the EE and not getting a reply for a week. it is rare but it happens. i just recently got a reply to a PM i sent 5 days ago.

doesn't help if no phone numbers could have been given before hand which always seems to be the case. everyone has different opinions and i respect that, no worries at all. i've been part of forums for years not just here and found the apps to be great especially when traveling. as long as you have email notification it's just as good if you only need to reply to PM's. forum apps of some sites suck as well. i really like it when forums are a part of the tapatalk app so i know what to expect. i just got the app the this site and i'll see how it is for a week or so before i judge it. i sure hope it has push notifications and a way to post pics on the run!
 
I'll bump this to the top. Android is growing and growing everyday. Seem like a good idea to either get an android app together or install tapatalk plugin.

I had decided to finally go and invest in the higher tier paid membership. Then i saw that it was iphone only, laughed, and never thought of it again.

I'd be happy to pay to use an app. But no app is worth having to put up with itunes and apples nonsense.
