Wow, Am I happy to have found CGN. I saw someone on HKpro that mentioned CGN in a thread. I went, I gave a look and I liked. Woot!!

Let me introduce myself.

I'm Kosmic, 37 year-old male from Montreal. Francophone (bear with me). License aircraft technician, married with a 3 week old baby boy. :D

I have 0, nada experience shooting rifles. Well, not exactly true. A friend of mine used to have an AR15 and I got the chance to shoot like 10 rounds in a sand pit......20 years ago!! I was about 17 at the time if I remember correctly. Incredible!! I knew at that time that someday I would have my own rifle to target shoot. I'm a city guy and never was in the vacenity of weapons/rifles. I'm no hunter. But I would to feed my family, we are not there yet. :runaway:

A co-worker brought back the urge in me to target shoot. He's a ex US Marines. He was in Somalia and left the place three weeks before Blackhawk down happened. He was a chopper gunner too.

I went on the firearms safety course last year, applied for my Possession and Acquisition License (PAL) and got it two weeks ago.

My interests.

I'm a Subaru maniac. If you want to talk high performance Subaru car, rally, road circuits, drag 1/4 mile. I'm the guy.

I used to play paintball all around the US and Canada. Did the world cup in Orlando '94. I'm an original Shockwave Canada member. I remember a team from western Canada that was pretty good, Personal Vendetta. We played together at the Pittsburgh amateur open '95. Maybe there's a CGN member that played for that team.

I like to read SpecOps books. Richard Marcinko, Andy McNab. Anything JTF, SEALs, SAS, Delta related.

Ok, the fun part. I would like to have three rifles total. My first one in the spring 2009.

1st - non-restricted, accurate, .223CAL, I'm flirting with the HK SL8-4 with the G36 stock (Am I allowed?), Swiss Army Classic Green (similar) and maybe the Tavor TAR 21. Good optic. Any insights or suggestions?

2nd - restricted, CQB, .223CAL, something that look like the military M4. What do I need to gain access to those short barrel restricted rifles? Suggestions for high quality CQB rifles?

3rd - Last but not least. Long range sniper rifles. Big CAL, bolt action. My dream rifle the Barrett model 99, but I know that they are banned from Canada or something. Any suggestions? I think there's Canadian options for long distance accurate big CAL sniper/target rifles.

I'm reading the CGN forums as fast as I can so please be patient with me. ;)

Best regards

Kos

Welcome Kosmic!

I didn't play with that team, but I do organize 60-80+ company tournaments in Ontario. Been playing since '82, when the Nel-Spot 007 first came out.

There's a few PB players here, one has even published a book on the topic, available at amazon.ca
