I just got my receiver. To no surprize the finish was less than perfect. Just like others have posted. The issue I have with my stock bolt is, I have to push the bolt to the left (in to the receiver) so that the bolt doesn't bind. When I do this, it recipricates fine. However if I don't help it, it binds and doesn't charge the bolt. Any Ideas?
I'm happy to say Tactical solutions and Tactical innovations use the same blue!
With loaded mag/rds/axiom stock, tacsol barrel, ch22 receiver =
3.74lbs!
Its only when charging the bolt. When firing rounds the bolt doesn't jam.
I took apart the gun and found it was jamming on the trigger group. Reinstalled everything and the problem went away.
However I did hear back from TactInc.
They first said there is No knowing issues with the receiver quality. However when I posted my pics and a vid from youtube showing the same issue I have on another receiver,
They quickly changed their story and said that they had issues with the deburring material and that it was pitting the receiver.
They are offering an exchange to myself and Wanstalls. However they don't ship direct so I'll have to send my receiver to Wanstalls and get an exchange.
I have to say Wanstalls and Gary has been a pleasure to deal with and few companies I've dealt with have the same customer service!
Big props Gary!
So I just received the new ch22 receiver from Wanstalls. They were kind enough to either offer a refund or send me a different receiver. Good news is the quality on the new one is much better! No milling marks on the rails and only a few really rough pitting areas compared to the old one. They were also kind enough to make me pay shipping, fyi.
I did however find outwhy I'm having an issue with my bolt!
The metal part that holds the bolt (on both my power customs and stock) charging handle, the slot is narrower than the TI new charging rod metal.
It's so wide that my bolt can wiggle side to side when the bolt is closed.
Now I know why I was having feeding isdues too!

The Stock bolt moves a lot left and right in the receiver. When I push the bolt to the other side of the ejection port can I charge the bolt. If I don't, the bolt totally is jammed on something as it is being pushed all the way to the ejection side of the receiver.
I have a stock charging handle and power customs handle. The only option I can think of is cut off the trigger part of the charging handle and see if the bolt still pushed to the ejection side.
Volquartsen bolts have the charging rod in the centre however the charging handle is apart of the bolt and I'd have to cut that off to work with the TI CH-22 receiver.
The other option is Wanstalls said they'd sell me a TI bolt. Maybe their bolt is wider and won't have issues?
Anyway I'm very frustrated!!!!
I'm totally shocked. I sent the Vid into Tactical Innovations. Today they called and wanted the serial number of the receiver and a few pics of the inside.
The TI guy was really nice, told me that my receiver fell under a switch they made in their receivers.
I guess they are on their 6th version of the CH22 receiver. They have had complains about bolts either being to tight and not fitting or too lose like mine.
He did say he was going to contact Wanstalls and get everything straightened out!!!!
I'm very surprized but my guess is it would have never happened if I hadn't posted the Video of my bolt in the CH22 receiver.
Anyway keep you guys posted!
When the bolt does charge, it's like glass. Night and day difference compared to the ruger receiver even after I polished it!
An update. TI sent me free of charge a new bolt rod/spring and a new charging handle.
It has almost fixed all issues! Im happy to say the BX25x2 mag and BX10 mag work flawlessly.
I have a few issues with the HC3R mag still. My guess is how Im loading it. Ive tried my speed loader and it still has feed issues.
I think Ill sell the BX25x2 and HC3R mag and buy some BC mags.
Anyway just wanted to let people know the CH22 receiver issues have been resolved.
Does anyone else have the CH22? Any issues with yours?
