Challenger Max/ Magnum in Win Mod 1300?

Hi, not sure if this question belongs here or in one of the shotgun forums.
I have a Winchester model 1300 defender, chambered for 2 3/4" and 3".
I mistakenly bought Challenger #4 Buck "Max" shells.
(In fact the carton says "Magnum", the shell itself has "Max" printed on it, and the metal crate the carton were in makes no mention of either...)
Do you think I can use them?

if their 2 3/4" or 3" I don't see why not. on the shell it may be they have max on there as in max dram equivalent as for the "crate" im guessing its an ammo box and probably has white or yellow writing on the side its most likely a milsurp ammo box their using so id just ignore it

Yes. You can shoot ANY commercial load, 3" or shorter out of a Winchester 1300.
