Challenger Slugs

Hello, this is my first post. A question for you guys,has anybody used these slugs before. I will be using them in my persuader, as I do some prospecting in the Wingdam, area, and there is quite a few bears in there. I have been through the internet and haven't found any information on these. I was trying to find Brenneke slugs but Can't find anybody in Canada that sells them. I have e-mailed some of the companies, but there are none to be found. It was said the challengers were the next best option. Thanks.
 
Personally I love the challengers. The fact that they're a canadian made slug is a major factor, but also seeing what that little hunk of lead did to my cousins first deer has made me a believer. Damn near blew out the side the slug exited @.@ slight exaggeration but not by much. I've read of other people having theirs bounce off the animal they were trying to harvest, but I've also heard of a batch of brenke slugs that when shot may not have enough power to leave the barrel, so no one's perfect. But, for me, if I was going into bear infested territory and brought my shotgun, I'd only have challengers, well maybe some bear banger's as well, but I'd trust my life to challenger slugs 100% But again, that's just me and my experiences with them @.@
 
Thanks, for your imput. We will have bear bangers etc, with us but, in this part of B.C. there is quite a bit of blacks and maybe some griz.I just wanted to have some "Bear Treats" if needed be..
 
I e-mailed a couple of sporting goods store originally looking for brenekes,instead they sell the challengers. Try Ell wood Epps, and Accuracy Plus.

Thanks, it just occured to me that the Fiocchi Aeroslug line uses the same basic slug design as the Challenger, although Fiocchi didn't offer a 1 1/8th oz slug until recently, and it runs a lot slower than the Chally, as does the rest of the line.

I've used Aeroslugs for years and they are great, and are {or at least were, haven't bought them in a while} a lot cheaper than Challengers or Brennekes.

I just received the slugs today.:) Took them out to the range and they seem to shoot well,(as good as the guy behind the trigger was). I took one of the slugs apart and noticed a plastic wad? that is attached to it. I assume it is for stabilizing. They are built a little different than the rem and winchester rifled slugs. It would be interesting to see how they perform on some meat, and bone, compared to the other slugs. But hopefully I will not need to use them, If I do, I am sure they will do the job.
