Chambered a mauser 8mm to .308

Hi,i would like to know how the processed is done for,8mm mauser 7.92 x57mm,to .308 is 7.62x51 mm,i saw a lot of mauser rechambered,is this type of rifle are good shooter,thank you:stfun00

Rebarrel, not rechamber.
Properly done should be a very good shooter.

Yes. The barrel is changed. Usually the magazine is altered so that the shorter .308 feeds properly.
The Israelis, Brazilians, Chileans, Spaniards converted thousands of Mauser rifles to 7.62. Also a standard gunsmithing job.

why bother?- just look for an ISREALI mauser chambered in 308/7.62mm- they're GENERALLY very good shooters and sometimes show very little usage- as far as the process goes, basically, it's just off with 1 barrel and crank on the other, and check the headspacing- there may or may not be a block in the magazine well-

Yes. They are excellent shooters.
Some Israelis have a block at one end of the magazine, others have a block at each end.

They are usually very good shooters.

They are also very common, already altered.

just make sure you GET ONE ON A 98 ACTION, there are some out there on 96 actions which aren't near as strong-
