After trimming and chamfering with the Lee Chamfer tool there is still a slight ridge on the outside of the case mouth. It is slight but can be felt with the fingernail. The rounds chamber but I'm wondering if this is ok or not. Crimping seems to flatten it but don't think I'll be crimping all the time.

Would a different tool remove this ridge? Does the ridge need to be totally removed? Looking at these. Thanks for any advice.

Use the other side to deburr the outside of the case mouth. If you are already doing this, I wouldn't be too concerned; the inside chamfer is the critical part.

If you can feel the ridge when seating bullets it could be a problem. I don't outside chamfer case mouth. I use Wilson 22 degree neck chamfer set up in shell holder on their trimmer. Seems to make uniform neck tension easier to obtain. Chamfer is uniform, for sure.

The slight ridge sounds like the burr from trimming. Needs to come off. Like tjhaile says, use the inside of the tool to deburr. That's why it's called trim, chamfer and deburr.

I use the Lee Deluxe Quick Trim Case Trimmer with appropriate Quick Trim Die. It trims to length, chamfers & deburrs all in one operation. Every case is PERFECT - very slick...
