Although I suspect many of you are already aware that the RCMP has been reclassifying a number of rifles from non-restricted to prohibited, please give this a moment of your time.

Things are coming to a head, and it appears that there may be the possibility of a legislative change which could benefit all gun owners.

Please sign the petition:

Please also consider writing a letter to your MP.

Thank you.

Bump. This is very important everyone. Please take a browse through the new reclassification forum as well. Tell your friends, post the info at your range.

I got this reply from my MP when I contacted him, perhaps they will do something to curb the outlandish authority given the RCMP.

Dear Mr. ######x,
Thank you for your recent email regarding the RCMP’s reclassification of Swiss Arms rifles. I always appreciate hearing from constituents on important issues like this.
We are very troubled by the situation that has arisen with Swiss Arms rifles. This decision was made by bureaucrats, not the Minister. Therefore, the Minister has ordered an urgent review of this unfortunate decision.
All options are on the table to ensure that no firearms owner who acted in good faith suffers any consequences as a result of this situation. All options are being explored on an urgent basis.
Again, I thank you for your feedback. If you would like to discuss this issue further, please do not hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,
Tom Lukiwski, MP

This is what I got back .. I am sure just a generic letter sent to all that e-mailed him

Good Morning,
Thank you for contacting my office recently sharing your concerns about the reclassification of the Swiss Arms Classic Green rifle.
Rest assured, this matter is being looked into on an urgent basis.
I support law-abiding gun owners and am working with Minister Blaney, Minister of Public Safety and National Security to take appropriate action to ensure that firearms owners who acted in good faith are not penalized as a result of the actions of others.
Thank you again for taking the time to write. Your views are important to me.
If I can be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact my office.
Respectfully,
Daryl Kramp, MP

Thanks for the link, petition signed and shared with my 300+ FB friends. I suggest we all do this...if you have good friends of course

Every government has bureaucrats that create regulatory laws.
The government entrusts this duty to "snivel servants" as they do not have the time nor knowledge to create these regulations.
Unfortunately neither do the "SS" and they can operate under the radar until the government takes control.
It is situations such as this that occasionally bring back a measure of sensibility.

Help defend the lawful property of the current owners facings bans, criminal charges, and confiscation without compensation. Or you will not have their support when the antis call your hunting rifle a "high powered sniper rifle".

Personally I suggest you do not start any petitions. They can be a double-edged sword as they allow your opponents to quantify you supporters, or just as bad, to think they can. In other words it is as easy to make your side look weak as it is to make them look strong.

Much better that thousands of emails, letters and phone calls be sent and made than 10,000 signatures on a petition. A letter is taken as meaning 500 people think the same, but didn't bother to write.

10,000 signatures on a petition...it says "only 10,000!" as much as it says "wow, 10,000!"

However, if a petition is already public on this issue then it needs to be supported 100% as once it is out there it is a liability if not supported strongly for the reasons given above.

Signed @ #10696, but frankly, I think it's a futile gesture. Petitions and emails are too easily ignored. The best approach to having your voice heard would be personal letters ( not form letters) to the PM., public safety minister, and your local MP. I plan on doing that this weekend.
