Changing barrels on a Mauser 98

Can I change my 8mm sporter barrel on my German Mauser 98 for a blued flutted heavier barrel. I like the heavier military style barrel. I'd like it short if possible and to keep it in 8mm. 20 inch max is preferable. Does anyone out there in the Mauser world know of such a thing and who has it?

Check Numrich arms site for various 8mm barrels for the 98. Midway has them (won't ship to Canada tho'). Or just buy a heavy fluted 8mm barrel from a cdn maker and have them install it. - dan

"... blued flutted heavier barrel..." You're looking at a custom barrel. Any of the Canadian barrel makers can do it. Contact info is on here someplace.
