Changing caliber on a Norinco T97

I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to have a gunsmith custom change the caliber of the Norinco T97. I would rather have a 7.62x39 caliber than the .223. I know it would likely mean a new barrel and a little work but is it possible? And who could do this kind of work?

I've considered this but given that the barrel is pressed and pinned in place and the bolt doesn't look like it has much room to be machined out to the larger case head I don't know if it could be done. If it could it would not be cheap.

You could try Ian at Herron Arms, I personally think it's a sh!t idea but hey, if you want to triple the cost of your rifle go for it.
