Changing Colt A1 upper (large hole) for newer flattop (small hole)

I’m about to change a large hole Colt AR15 Sporter A1-style upper receiver for a standard A3 flattop (small hole). The Sporter is a late 80’s/ early 90’s rifle with slabside lower.

Question 1: which upper make is best between Armalite or Stag for this swap ? I know a DD big hole A3 would be nice… if I can find one in Canada.

Question 2: where can I find the offset pin for matching a small hole upper onto a large hole lower ? do you know any CGN member that would sell me one of those adapter pins ?

Check with P & D (Phill specifically) they have the off set pins for you, they also have the ecentric spacer for the conversion the other way.
Either of the uppers you have mentioned will do just fine!
