Changing Henry .22 Small Lever to Large Loop lever

Has anyone changed out their small loop levers for a large loop on a Henry lever action .22?
Is it hard to do, or hard to find the large lever part?
Anyone who has done it and has some advice to give, it would be appreciated

Thanks for the sarcasm, but that doesn't answer if it's hard to find the parts to do it or if it's worth doing.

Your welcome, Henry sells the parts, I would look at contacting a henry distributor or bringing the parts from the one in the states through one of the importing vendors if nothing shows up on the EE, usually if its been done on CGN or AO, a google search will show that as well.


Google will also tell you that some folks have modified there existing levers, there has been a couple threads in the hunting and sporting arms sections here, though I have seen nothing regarding the .22 levers, but you should be able to cut/fabricate/weld your existing lever as others have done just the same. As for wether it's worth doing, how should any of us know, it's gonna cost you money, perhaps you should define what your willing to spend.

I did it but I took off the large loop and put on a small one took maybe a half hour with basic tools I sold a h001 so I could buy the large loop carbine and then couldn't stand the large loop it puts slop into action for no reason IMHO unless its a winter gun and your wearing gloves it's just for looks.

I kinda went down the same road once, ended up making my own (drew them up in autocad and had them cut on a water table), the normal ones were too tight, the big loops reminded me of the oversized earings from the 70's, gawdy and awkward.
