After doing some shooting with my Slavia 634 I noticed my point of impact goes up after I shoot for a bit. I'll do some shooting, get the sight set, and then when I take it out next time it'll be shooting a good inch low. After a number (6-8) shots the POI will go up. Is this normal on an air gun? Could my sloppy oil job on the piston be to blame? I didn't think an air gun barrel would get "hot" from repeated shots. What the heck!

Your not supposed to use oil in the piston of a springer unless it has a leather seal and then only a couple drops about every tin of pellets or so.AFIK

I did some google searching. I put the oil on the spring, so very little should have made it's way past the seal into the chamber. If you put petroleum based oil in the chamber it can explode an damage the gun. I'll get some silicon chamber oil for it next time I hit the store.
