So this gun is interesting me a great deal, it will probably my first purchase if I manage to get an RPAL.

I was looking at the specs, and I've noticed that it comes with adjustable target sights, rather than night sights which I would prefer.

Would it be a simple/do it yourself process to remove the sights on this particular model and replace them with my own choice of sights?

I found this video on how to remove sights, the person uses the slide of a p226 as an example in the video.

Would this method also work on removing the adjustable target sights on the p220 match elite? What do you have to say about the video and the method he uses?

The Match elite is a very nice gun and the target sites are great. Try them first before you make a decision to replace.
Like the video, you can do a swap yourself with the right tools but frankly i wouldn't #### around and would just take it to a smith. Also know that the rear site cut on the match elite is different from the standard sigs.

you may have a point! I just did a quick search on google about the issue, and apparently its just the rear sight that's not a night sight. Oh well, guess that should be an ok compromise. I'll take your advice though, and take it to a gunsmith if I think of changing my mind. It's an expensive gun from what I'm seeing, also I am not sure about the durability of the stainless slide in comparison to the nitron finished slides I see other models sporting.

Thanks for you input!

from what I can see from the screencap of the video I posted, and the picture you posted, the rear sight cut on the p220 match elite is further up than the p226. Any other differences? Or is the position of the cut the only difference? Do the cuts have different dimensions?

the regular slide has just a notch. the match (similar to other sig target p-22x models) has a notch and recessed cut out of the slide to accommodate the full length of the sight. the difference is quite clear in the pictures.

stainless is durable.
