anybody picked up one of MARSTARS Chaparral 9422 $199 factory seconds?
Are they still available?
Are the imperfections noticeable or serious?
How do they compare with Henry or Norinco?
How are they for reliability and accuracy?
 
I just got one week and a half ago from Marstar, the clearance special because of the "fit and finish problems" whatever the flyer said (same one you are referring to). Finish was FINE. I had to look very hard to find the imperfections.

Ran 500 rounds through it last weekend, no hiccups at all and I had to work hard to miss anything.

Magazine tube is perfectly in line with the barrel.

Hard to imagine the odd good one didn't slip out of Italy with the rest of the turds.....:D
 
He he like I say it isn't perfect, but nothing that would have prevented me buying it.

Looks like the stock needs more oil; bolt finish is rough (but so was my Marlin Guide Gun); and the fit of the metal to the stock & forend isn't as tight everywhere as it could be. No concerns to me! Had a blast shooting it.

Sorry to hear others haven't been as lucky...as I read it though mine isn't the only decent one to escape. "Ya takes yer chances" I guess
