Does anyone know about this company, or where they are sold in Canada? From what I've researched they seem to be a half decent gun for a good price. Kinda like a factory tricked out Norinco.

I was interested in obtaining a Charles Daly Empire EFS a few months ago. The guy at my gun shop said that the ones that he sold, all came back in need of repair work. Look into a Kimber Target II. It's under a thousand, and you'll never want back.

I recently got one - my Martin handgun ban handgun - and despite all the bad press I've seen about these guns I was pleasantly surprised. Fit and finish seem to be very good. The sights are dove tailed in which is a nice feature, the gun has an enlarged ejection port and doesn't flatten the case mouths like some of my older Colts have. The magazines are made by Meggar in Italy. My gun is the stainless EFST and according to the paperwork with it, it left the factory July 1st 2004. I heard some horror stories about these guns on the 1911 forum, but it appears the company tightened up their QC and the newer guns are quite good from what I've heard, and this is certainly the case with mine.

Or you could just buy a Norinco from Armco and get everything you could want. The frame on the Norc is excellent material and Gunnar smooths out the rough bits.

All for an excellent price.

When I was looking for a 1911 in November/December, Lever Arms in Vancouver said they had some. IIRC they were around 8-900 bucks????????? Not 100% sure about the price. I've seen mixed reviews on these....
