The gun points ok. The barrel is not heavy despite the appearance of a full underlug. The somewhat smallish grip fits with the overal weight of the gun. Weight and balance wise, it's very comparable to a J Frame. But that's probably the only comparison I could fit between these two manufacturers.
Fit and finish is around Norinco quality. It works, but there are lots of burrs and bead blasting making things a bit rough. Several hours of polishing, or a thousand rounds down range or so ought to clean it up. It indexes fine and works reliably in double and single action. But the trigger pull is at least 10 lbs double action. (My gauge only goes up to 8lbs). Single action is great at 3.5lbs though.
In all, it's about what I expected for Charter Arms. This isn't the Cadillac of guns by any means, but it's cheap and it works.
The cylinder is also something of a novelty to me. The pawls that hold the cartridges in place work well and I like having a gun that is somewhat inventive.
By the time my daughter is old enough to try it out, it should be broken in nicely and sporting a pink grip. I am happy with my purchase.
