Anyone have one of these?? I have found good and bad reviews . I'm looking for a 22 revolver to plink with,nothing serious, and I don't want to spend $800-$1000 for one. I want a "revolver" so that I don't have to worry about cheap ammo not cycling. These go for about $400+. Any info would be great!
Charter Arms Target Pathfinder???

I bought a pathfinder in 22 magnum and was very disappointed. Shells would not eject properly and accuracy was terrible! I bought a Alphaproject 22 revolver from Cabelas for $469.00 and I am very pleased with it. I bought the model with the 4.5 inch barrel and it is very accurate. A really fun, handy revolver!

I looked into the Alfa Project revolvers and read that the 22 has an alloy frame that tends to be weak. The heavier calibre models have a stranger steel frame. I guess you get what you pay for. I may just look at a used Ruger or S&W.
They make steel/stainless steel versions in .22 as well...about $75-$100 more if you shop around http://blsolutions.ca/alfa-proj/
I'd buy a Taurus before Charter Arms, and they are garbage...
I just got the target pathfinder . they are $299.00 (.22 mag) right now at prophet river. sometimes the spent cases get stuck in the cylinder (with cci ammo) . I polished the cylinder with a bore brush and flitz. Nice double/single action triggers . I like the rubber grips . other than that just your average plinker. if you Look over it closely , some tool marks .
If you just looking for a .22 revolver . Ruger single six is better quality and I see them sometimes on EE for $400-$450.

Decent used Model 17's show up on the EE from time to time in the 650-750 range.
Otherwise, I think I'd go with an Alfa. I have a 4.5" Alfa 9mm and it's a decent gun.

Personally I had several .22 revolvers ove the years and sold them all. They were no more accurate then my autos, and slow to load and unload. I like revolvers for magnums....they shine there.

I'm not worried about speed for loading. I just want something that will shoot cheap ammo without cycling issues. I also want to use this gun to introduce a couple of non gun owners to shooting. I agree with your reply about accuracy and autos, but I need something a little lighter.

Maybe (probably?) it's me but I've found that i am consistently more accurate with my revolvers than my semi's....at least when it comes to centrefire. (1911 STI Trojan excepted)
But now that I think about it I shoot no better with a .22 revolver than with my Browning Buck Mark
S/A is even s.l.o.w.e.r to load-shoot-unload.
Only thing with Ruger is you get a cast steel firearm. They cut every corner they can to make cheap guns even cheaper.

I dunno, H - I've gotten quick enough with my single action that it's not an issue. i wouldn't be significantly slower than the average punter with their first DA

As for ammo. Yes they will eat anything, but they will have a preference, and rubbish ammo will foul the chambers sooner than good stuff (I'm looking at YOU, Remington...)
I find sub sonics fun now and then. Just try those in an auto
I'd suggest a used Smith. Everything I've read about Charter generously refers to them as night stand guns, or best to be carried a lot and shot little.
Like with most things, if you want a higher duty cycle, you pay for it.
