CHAS 6th Annual Zombie Shoot – Family Event June 14, 2014

CHAS is pleased to announce the 6th Annual Zombie Shoot will be June 14 this year rain or shine.

This year will be more than just your typical Zombie Shoot! Make no mistake, there will be LOTS of zombies…so come prepared! But this will also be a showcase of all the things that CHAS as a club can offer shooters of all ages.

ZOMBIE SHOOT
The zombie shoot will be a full 3-gun style shoot fending off a Zombie Horde. Shooters will have a chance to survive an onslaught of 40-50 brain craving zombies using both an AR-15 (or similar) and a Shotgun. (plus 10 steel targets and a Whirly-Gig for shotgun)

For those of you who want to bring your own guns to the shoot, please keep in mind that there will be plenty of people wanting to test their skills against the zombies. Your chosen firearms must be capable of being fired and loaded at a reasonable rate to engage 40-50 targets to keep the day moving for multiple shooters. If you own a handgun and are proficient, you can bring it, and under supervision of a Range Safety Officer, use it for a portion of the event.

Ammunition will be staged throughout the shoot house, so it will not be necessary to carry all your ammunition with you, but you will need a means to load. NO SINGLE SHOT RIFLES.

If you do not have adequate firearms or wish to try out an AR-15 or the supplied Shotgun, loaner firearms and ammo will be provided for a fee.

Each turn purchased will supply/require 70 rounds of .223 (or equivalent) and 20 rounds of 12 gauge #4,5,6 (for steel engagement)

ZOMBIE SHOOT FEE (CHAS SUPPLIED AMMO/GUNS) - $40

Holy!
Looks like this year things are progressing alot! Sounds like a great day with alot of great people!!!

Still have pics of last years flood on my phone, was so bummed that it was off that my gf suggested we go buy a new rifle in edmonton since we made the trip up!
:)

Good to see it's gonna go this year. Was there helping set up last year and found out that the range had gone all submarine on us an hour after I left. Unreal.

I'm in. I might even be willing to offer up the DPMS as a loaner gun for general use, as long as someone is kind enough to loan me a shotgun for the zombies in return :)

We will have carbines and shotguns available for those who don't have their own to use. For anyone familiar with my AR it will be available for use on the Zombies and we will have a Mossberg 590A1. Keep it pump, Keep it simple. There will be a couple ARs and Shotguns for use though. If you have your own stuff and want to run it have at er. I think that was all in the description though!

What kind of distance can we expect the furthest targets for both rifle and shotgun. Also what dimensions will said targets be.

I have never atended a 3 gun event before, so I am curious just how hard I am going to suck! Haha

Most of the targets will be 4-15 yards. We will likely have a couple of targets 30-50 yards. The shotgun targets will only be about 10-15 yards. All the paper targets are roughly torso sized. The shotgun targets are all small poppers. roughly 24" tall and 10" wide with a whirly gig that is all 8" plates. Look forward to seeing you out there.

Sh.it. I just found out I need to go for emerg eye surgery on June 13th so I won't be able to make it out for the zombie shoot. I was really looking forward to this event. :(
