Just forwarding this info for anyone who might be interested in participating:

I will post information on round count when I get them.

Hi everybody!

This is Jesse from Drop Zone. I finally got some time to sit down and
write some e-mails. We've had a meeting and scheduled our next shoot to
be May 28 at the CHAS range (this is subject to change). As per our
previous shoots we will not be giving any intel on the actual course of
fire but come prepared for rifle, pistol and shotgun serials. Remember
all proper PPE is required (eye protection, ear protection and body
armor). If you are lacking in any kit there are plenty of us down there
with extra gear that will be more than happy to help you out (i.e. if
you don't yet own you're own body armor).

Prep you're self accordingly for a full day outdoors. Normally we start
at noon and we have folks come down to provide fresh food (i.e. BBQ) and
water for a couple of bucks.

If you aren't a member of the Tri Gun League or CHAS you'll have to pay
range fees and shoot fees to pay for insurance and the cost of targets.
You don't have to be a member for both but paying for you're yearly
membership for both saves you a lot of money. The fee for shooting is
about half off if you're a Tri Gun member. CHAS memberships are $100 now until the end of the year and Tri Gun memberships are $20 for a year
from the date of purchase.

Hope to see you out there!

Cheers,
Jesse

As I have mentioned before, the CHAS Tri gun league has a different flavour than the rest of the 3 gun leagues.

These are true "military style" shoots and there will be little to no 'line shooting', virtually all shooting will be active and, eventually, will include 270 degree arcs of
fire once CHAS is revamped and the new intended ranges are open, performed under careful supervision.

You won't see people in Polo's and shorts with race guns.

As you can imagine, the CHAS league provides a very different experience, in fact, there are no timers present.

I do not think Stab proof will work, but there will be people who can loan out equipment for a small fee. Being "Military" in style, you are expected to be equipped, move and shoot "Military style"

Plan to show up at 1000hrs for registration and prep for fire. By 1200hrs we should kick off and start the shoot. Bring adequate equipment for the day including clothing, water and food as you see fit. Because we are not a bunch of soft armchair commandos we will shoot no matter the weather conditions! So if it’s hailing like there’s no tomorrow the
shoot is still going on and we want to see YOU out there shooting along
side us!

Be sure to bring some cash! The fee to be on the range is $5 for
insurance if you are not a member of CHAS (Canadian Historical Arms
Society). You must be a member of the Tri-Gun league in order to shoot
(membership is $20 for a year from the date of purchase) and the fee for
paying for targets and other consumables that are incurred by the league
is covered by a $5 per shoot fee. If you don’t have any personal
firearms or gear to compete just be sure to bring out eye and ear
protection and there will be people out there willing to share their
equipment (probably for a small fee). If you bring 9mm, .223 Rem and 12
Ga. ammo you are guaranteed to have people there with firearms that take
those calibers. Also, we normally have someone laid on to BBQ burgers
and hotdogs for a couple bucks a pop.

Those of you who have their own firearms prep them for fire accordingly.
If you’re weapon fails you during the shoot your run will be stopped and
we keep the fee. If you incur too many stoppages during the shoot the
RSO will end your shoot and, again, we keep the fee.

Don’t show up late because if you miss the range brief you will not be
shooting!

If you're just bringing boxed ammo then I suggest a bare minimum of 100
rounds of pistol and rifle (5.56mm and 9mm are most popular) and 50
shells of 12ga, 00 and slug.

Prepare as you would for a firefight you plan on winning. I suggest at
least 5 mags for you're primary (I personally have 10) and 3 for you're
pistol. We don't give away the course of fire ahead of time because in
the real world you don't get to know ahead of time the actual number and
location of all you're enemy. Make sure to bring a couple of boxes of
buckshot and slug for the shotgun portion of the shoot. Also bring some
cash to pay for the shoot and any other deficiencies in you're kit that
other's can help fill (i.e. I have extra body armor, weapons, holsters
and gear but I certainly wont be handing it over to anyone for free).

P.S. Here are some directions to the range if you don’t already know….

Take the Yellowhead heading west. Go past Spruce Grove, and keep going
until you see the huge exit for Hwy 43 North. OPPOSITE that is Hwy 770
South. Turn left onto Hwy 770 and follow it for about 20 minutes. You
will come to a long hill going down then over a bridge spanning a river
then a climb back up. As you're climbing up, the road will curve to the
left...keep an eye open for the first right turn. Turn there and
immediately turn left so you are running parallel to the hiway. Follow
the signs.

Any questions, feel free to PM me or post here, I will try my best to respond and find answers.

Oh Ill be there. The night prior is my birthday party, so Ill likely be on very little sleep and hung over (but happy ;) )

Ill bring some extra coin to use some body armor.

Just too add alittle into the shoot tomorrow, this time around we are trying something alittle different, we will be doing 9 hole drill's. Basically its a board with 9 holes in it,different sizes and angles. So you start standing and end up pretty much eating dirt with your head on the ground.
As Cy has mentioned, we are trying to think outside the box.We are still working this up slowly, baby steps if you will. After the shoot we are going to have a league meeting so we can firm up afew things and make things even better in the future

Steve you always hit it right on the head

Since some many guys are buying tactical gear etc etc etc..I'm thoughts are let the people eat the Lamb and all the other kool aid out there

Nice.

I always like it when people scratch their heads wondering why their rifle is keyholing at 10m. Forgetting about sight offset or not rolling the rifle to shoot through horizontal slots and putting the bullets through the plywood will do that.:D We've incorporated barricades like the VTac in our 3 gun matches.

Good times!

I'll get my fat ass up there to one someday soon

Pics would great if anyone can post them, we would all appreciate.

Just out of curiousity, did the ''Stürmbahnfuhrer'' show up at the shoot?? ;)

I did a screen cap of the video I am working on.

There is alot of footage to go through as I edit out things like people who didn't want to be seen, plumbers crack, etc. :)

And no, I don't think this "Sturm" fella showed...

This is the not so nice 9 hole barricade. The little triangle on the bottom right
was a tough challenge for me, but I figured it out by watching others:)

Here is the video I've been promising everyone.

I had to purposely degrade the video quality somewhat and toss some video to prevent some people from being identified. Even if you recognize them, please keep it to yourself :)

The course of fire consisted of the 9 hole Rifle shoot at 100M, then a Shotgun 9 hole shoot WEAK HANDED! at 50 then a Pistol 9 hole shoot. Didn't get much pistol footage as the hour was getting late and I had to leave.

My thanks to CHAS and everyone who had a hand in organizing a great and very challenging event.

Here is the video available in 360p and 420p. Fun tidbit, see if you can spot the FN :D

**Video temporarily removed until I can resolve a copyright issue, will be back soon :(**
