Ive got a tikka t3 300 win mag. Been playing with the idea of throwing on either a MDT LSS XL or a XLR Element (need an open top for removing the action when it rains quickly to clean).
Will be using it mostly for hunting. Anything from carrying it horseback for a few days, shooting a bear or moose in thick ass bush at 25 yards, or an elk at 400 off my day pack, or humping it up a mountain for hours at a time. So it would have to be very versatile. I understand the benefit of the ergonomics that chassis have to offer and I like the idea of having a folding stock.
Here's the bottom line: How much weight will a chassis add to a rifle?
My tikka t3 wood stock, limbsaver pad, mercury recoil absorber, scoped (4200 2.4-10 x 40) with sling, no ammo weighs an oz or 2 under 9 lbs.
Anyone have any light chassis rigs?
