Chassis or stocks?

I’ve never had that particular chassis (tikka model) but every chassis I have bought from them was excellent, and their customer service is great as well. Pretty hard to go wrong with MDT and they are Canadian. However you may want to list what you will be using this setup for, that will dictate whether it’s a good choice for you or not. It’s a good choice for target but is heavier than say the LSS, or for other applications the other models may be better, hear lots of good stuff about the ESS.
 
I have ran all of the MDT chassis and by favorite one is the ESS. The ergonomics and adjustability is great.
I would also look at the new LSS gen 2 that will be out shortly. Out of all the MDT the HS3 is my lease favorite. Don't get me wrong it is still a good chassis it just dose not fit me well / work for my usage.
 
I defiantly second(or third) the MDT chassis, i have the LSS and have nothing but good things to say about it. So modular and literally can slap on whatever youd like onto it. I shoot from bench or prone about 98% of the time so it has really helped there with the rock solid chassis.
 
Great chassis, I run the ESS on my older Tikka Tactical 308. The down side I see for you is the MDT is set up for AICS mags, and you already have the CTR mags, which I think are equivalent if not maybe a bit better because of their shorter profile. I may be wrong but I don't think you can use your mags with that chassis.

The plus side of this is you can sell your CTR mags and get twice as many MDT polymer mags...
 
I would drop it in an ESS chassis!
After 700-800 rounds just take it out and see if action and chassis are using from rubbing, if yes just need to bed recoil lug.
 
Running the ESS and a McMillan A-5 fully adjustable on 2 twin Savage LRPV repeater 223's. Still trying to decide which I prefer but the McMillan is hard to beat. MDT being a solid $500 cheaper in the end hasn't swayed me.

Not sure on what you are looking to run for a buttstock but if you are going chassis and wanting to run the MDT skeleton stock, the ESS is quite a bit more ergonomic around the pistol grip than the HS3 (thumb shelf, rounded thumb web pocket).
