Cheap 22 Short?

I have 3 guns that are chambered for the Short.

Anyone seen a deal on ammo?

Nope. I cannot honestly say I have seen shorts on sale at all that I remember either. Are the guns specifically chambered for the short rounds, or are they just capable of shooting them? Cabelas does however come to mind. You might be able to call them and ask when they were on sale last, or if they will be going on sale.

I can't remember the last time I even saw 22 shorts. Must be decades ago. To substitute why not try some CCI 22 CB's? The cases seem to be quite short and they sound like an air rifle when you touch them off. If I remember they have a velocity of about 600-700 fps. Best of luck.

Wholesale sports has plenty and the last I saw they were 30% off or about $7/100 CCI if you can access

The only place where I ever see shorts for sale is at gun shows. I should pick some up for myself next time I see some.

I got some from my local lgs... you are right they are somewhat rare but you can find em still.

Yes most of the shops out here have it, but it's not cheap.
I like plinking with shorts, you can fit 21 in the tube magazine and no need for ear plugs

My local can tire always has a couple boxes of the CCI shorts. Sometimes I wonder if I'm the only person that buys them there lol

Gone are the days it's cheaper to shoot shorts than pricey LR...
I have had a few gems through that could only shoot shorts. CCI makes them (links to SFRC below), but not as cheap bulk..

There are some match pistols chambered in short, so I imagine there's target ammo out there somewhere too

Same here LGS but in small amounts guess there is less demand so the shop orders less

Thanks for the lead to Ammo Source. I checked there a half hour before posting my help needed post. Did not find the Shorts.

I have 2 pistols chambered in Short and an old Winchester pump chambered in Short. All 3 will run just fine on Stnd velocity, so just about any genuine Short will work.

I recall buying a case of Aguila a few years ago, but now I can't find it.

Ha. I have done that a couple of times when I lose a gun part and buy another. Almost immediately the "lost" part is found.

I’m pretty sure I saw some at Cabela’s not long ago. I know I’ve seen it somewhere recently. Will keep an eye out now and let you know. I don’t go more than a few days without stopping at one of my usual shooting store haunts.

Found CCI at local Can Tire. $15 for 100. Not cheap, but at least I can shoot tomorrow.
