I’m curious if there’s anyone in Canada that makes cheap plinking bullets for 6.5 mm.. similar to the camper .308 fmj… use is just for plinking. Shooting gongs.. don’t really wanna use hornady gmx for that lol..

I've bought ppu from Intersurplus for fairly reasonable prices. Check Budget Shooters.

Casting is going to be the cheapest option but has its own cost of entry in equipment and learning curve. The limits it puts of pressures mean brass lasts better and powder costs can be reduced too.

Speer are about the cheapest.
You can buy bulk Hornady from Higginsons.
Don't bother with PRVI unless you just want to make noise, I haven't found any that shoot good yet.

I was just on LaweysShootingSupply's website and believe I seen .264 140gr speer bullets for around $35/Box 100. I use there 145gr BTSP for plinking cause they were cheaper then anything else I could find. They shot great in my 7-08,280 and 7x64. and even accounted for a few whitetail bucks. No complaints on the price or there capability!

While I was not thrilled with the PPU HPBT bullets, the round nose soft point 156 gr shoot well out of all three of my rifles. I use Sierra 85 and 90 gr HP bullets for varmints out of my Zastava. Good luck finding them, but they are not unreasonably priced when you find them.

Im using an m96 spotter so im concerned the heavier bullets might not stabalize? I’ve read the twist is greater than 8.. the sierra TMK 130 gr I have say 8 or faster.. should I be concerned?

I'm shooting a Zastava M70 which is 1:9 twist and I have loaded Sierra 85 gr JHP varmint bullets, 120 gr HPBT and 156 gr. PPU JSP. I load all of them towards the "hot" side of standard loads, so I can still shoot them from my old swedes. From both the Zastava with a 1:9 twist and the M96 with a 1:7.8" all three weights shoot to the same point of aim at 100 yards, the heavier bullets drop more out of my shorter M38. BTW, the Sierras are most accurate with >1moa out of the Zastava, and the heavies at 1.5 moa more or less. Lots accurate for hunting.
