cheap 7.62x39??????

16.667 cents/round is quite good. It may be difficult to find a better price than that. Some places near me are charging 20-25 cents/round by the crate. I believe the best price around was TradeEx with free shipping but they've been sold out for a while now. They have Bulgarian listed on their site as out of stock but it's 17 cents/round. Budget has the Czech stuff on stripper clips for 18.75 cents/round. I picked up a crate for the stripper clips which I'll save and reuse.

That's not a bad price at all! If that's what your CT is like, consider me extremely envious... I've seen two local gun shops sell 1440 round crates for as high as $370. It's unfathomably stupid.

Anyways, I believe Wolverine has 1200 round crates for $200, but then you have to factor in shipping costs etc. Personally I'd just get the stuff at CT.

I bought a crate from from CT and it was 1971 vintage tula - every round fires but not every round cycles in my ruger mini- I am pleased with the ammo

Id rather pay the $300 / 1200 non corrosive myself. Plus then it's steel core which is cool.

They also have random sales. Got 4 crates for $900 so 19 cents a round for non corrosive

lol, isn't the surplus stuff steel core?
From what I've read, most of the surplus stuff is corrosive even if its marked non.
Really I don't see the big deal, hot water and a toothbrush. It's not like it's a .22 you put away dirty, you need to clean it after you shoot.
Sounds like my CT has the best deal. $249.00 on sale for 1500 rounds.

I've shot crates upon crates of corrosive Czech, Its steel jacketed steel core, and I've never once used water on any of my guns, I use a solvent/bore cleaner and wipe everything down, Never had any rust.

$219 a crate (1500) Chinese mil surplus at ISS this past weekend. or $375 for an SKS and a crate of 1320 Romanian at Lever.

I'd go for the BSS Czech if I wasn't loaded for all the bears.

Norinco from Canada ammo isnt surplus, but it is steel core. And it's for sure non corrosive.

1500 rounds and no cleaning for a month, not one spec of rust

I've always faithfully plugged the kettle in upon returning from shooting corrosive and given the rifles a bath. Lately I've become lazy and done as you describe. So far so good here as well.
