Hey guys-I remember a thread about an inexpensive bore scope offered on Amazon, and while I found the thread...I can't seem to find the exact same one on Amazon.ca. Maybe the heat is getting to me. :p

For any of you guys/gals that snagged one, can you tell me whether or not any of the current offerings on amazon are the same? Translation="help me find one" :)

Appreciate any input.

Cheers,

^thanks Poffels!

Do you know if it was the same item/model as what was being discussed earlier this year? Can anyone post a photo of theirs?

Super good Deal - but caveat here

Hey - Just a note of warning here - I bought one in April and only used it 5-6 times. Then it started getting 'hinkey' - would drop
out of connection' during use. It seems the scope cable (not the USB) is very sensitive and should not be 'Looped"' for storage. The ends, I have found online - can become disconnected internally. This has happened to several people that I found on forums. The Teslong have replaced the cable for others, and I just sent a complaint 2 days ago, got a reply within 24 hours - and they said they will send a repl cable. That may take 2-3 weeks or so since it's from China - Wipe down the package !!! - but very polite CS and very prompt so far. The images from the scope when it worked were EXCELLENT !! :d :d Many forum comments by 'experienced' shooters were very positive - on several forums. (I'm just a nfg) I still recommend this even though I had a faulty cable, it could have been an accident tho I was very careful. They should sent 2-3 along with the unit. They are saying they have fixed the problem, but I think it's just Quality Control - small parts soldered to fine wires. Still a great buy for about $70CDN.
Here's a pic of the Leade on my Marlin 60 after3-400 rounds, but cleaned bore. And my Ruger .223. I use Boretech C4 carbon cleaner, recommend that also even tho its ca. $40/pint. still need to work on the Copper in the .223 ! But it shoots fine anyways.
The pics are amazing for $70. "Big Name" scopes run into the $$hundreds !!

Paid $69.99 no tax for my Teslong borescope back in June. Did not come in a case just a brown cardboard box. It does say this in their Amazon listing.

Lilja barrel

Geez, I wish my Marlin or .223 Ruger looked that clean. Lilja must lap the barrels to get that shiny. I got some Rem 40x bore polish but I have to wait for the new cable to see if it helps. Although many say 'don't clean 'till they stop working, I can't stand knowing there's a bunch of c*** inside. After seeing the bores before and after cleaning, my skin crawls. The .223 needs a lot of work, both Carbon and Copper 'skid marks'. The Copper is worst nearer the muzzle and the Carbon nearer the chamber.

I just got one of these in the mail. Holy crap my guns are dirty! Going to have to work a bit harder at cleaning them, and some look like they're pitted a bit as well. Looking in them with just a light they look great though, maybe I should stick to that to avoid disappointment in the future. Or I can save a bore scope picture or two and use that as an excuse for my lousy shooting.

Porpoise - Did it ever work? Even for a few seconds? If so, you should email Teslong to get a new cable. That may be what you need anyway. I was able to use mine for a few times - total maybe 10-15 minutes - before it failed. Even now it may connect for a few seconds, but as I move the probe the pic will 'dis-connect'. That's why they are sending me a new cable. it hasn't arrived yet - coming thru Calif via USPS, inet said it was in TO Monday so I may see it anytime - I hope. Gettin' antsy to see the bores - now that I know what I was missing.
