cheap effective ammo box - ideas?

I've got ammo cans for long term storage, but for going to the range I use the plasitc ammo boxes (100 size). They're only about $3 each and last forever. I can fit 5 or 6 into my range bag if I'm planning to shoot several guns.

edit:
The other nice thing is that with all the rounds "head down" I can check the primers on my reloads very quickly.

Im just going to be using standard military surplus ammo cans , all the seals are intact , barley any marks they look brand new , and there waterproof to boot , not to worried about the weight . they usually go on sale to for around 14 bucks a pop maybe lower if there damaged visually .

Military ammo cans are the best idea and the strongest and lockable as well!

I use a large ammo box for storage at home. Some times I take the whole thing to the range but it is way too heavy.

When I shoot pistol or .22 I use an old backpack that has lots of pockets for eye, ears, ammo etc...

When I shoot trap I just walk around with the case of 100. I feel a little ghetto beside all these guys that have fancy shooting jackets and hip packs for the spent hulls. I pick mine up with a grocery bag. Might have to get some class soon so I fit in with the club.

I pack my reloads into those plastic ammo holders the ammo is sold in, then store them in ammo cans. When going to the range, I put 2 holders into a small cigar box, fits perfectly.
