cheap lever action .22 sugg. wanted

Anyone rcommend a good cheap lever action .22 (new or used) for teaching the wife tartget shooting? She really likes the western style guns and I want to keep the ammo cost down.

Get a Browning BL-22 or a Winchester 9422. They go up on the EE forum now and then. Both are good quality.

Good choice! I bought one of those models to throw in my quad box for grouse, very accurate little shooter. I picked it up new for $220.

I agree with the Henry. Half the price of a Winchester and the fit and finish is a little nicer.

Both the Browning BL-22 or a Winchester 9422 would still be good choices.

I owned a Winchester 94-22, very nice .22 and very good quality. But the price tag on them is steep, and they dont shoot any better than the Henrys.

Thanks for the replies. Im taking the wife out to look at henry's and others this weekend at a few shops. Find which one she likes best, then shop around for new/used ones
