Cheap price on Savage

I recently bought a Savage 16FCSS in .270 WSM from the Canadian Tire in Red Deer for $530. One of other gun shops in town wanted $750 for the same model (stainless, synthetic w/removable mag). The cheapest here in Edmonton I think is $620 at Wholesale. I don't know if this is new pricing because of the Canadian dollar, or what, but I like it.

your CTs sell guns?

i think i paid $600 even a while back at SIR, in .308. plus shipping ($14).
still, had i bought it locally id have been dinged by the PST, so i wouldnt have saved much.

There are only 2 that I know of. the one on the south side of Red Deer and one in Calgary (McLeod Trail?) They are owned by father and son. They actually have a Hunting Manager and stock probably 3 times as much hunting stuff, besides the great selection of guns.

The best part is, after cashing in my Canadian Tire bucks, I only paid $324 with tax!

SIR has pretty decent prices on Savage rifles, that's where I would compare to.

The Canadian Tire in Red Deer and the one in Calgary are owned by gun people and every once in a while they make a special purchase and when the price is right, they like to put it to WSS and Russels. etc. If one is looking for a deal, it pays to make a regular check on what either of these two store have.
