Cheaper semi with bolt hold on last round?

Is the rail being off a standard issue with the 795? Is that something I should really be looking for? Is this a gun that should be bought in person to make sure its straight, or is this an uncommon enough problem to buy online, sight unseen, and hope for the best?

I can only speak to mine for now; I mounted a dovetail-to-Picatinny adapter rail on mine so that I could use Picatinny-accepting windage-adjustable scope-rings.

I have promag 25rd mags for my Marlin 70 and my buddy has them from his Marlin 795. They jam quite a bit in both guns with a wide variety of ammo.

I just put a Tipton Snap Cap in as the first round in the magazine followed by 9 regular rounds. No more worries about counting here.
