Cheapest 870

I want to fix one up...what would be the cheapest to get ...or....would a copy of the 870 be the direction i should go?

You can get a complete Wingmaster for about $350. Cut the barrel or sell it for $125, sell the stock set if you don't like it and go from there

I waa thinking a dominion or norc shotgun would be the cheaper alternative to add some spare 870 parts

If you are talking NEW guns, the Dominion Arms 12.5" Grizzly tube fed gun with bead sight is probably the best deal going for one that looks decent. If you can live with all the giant MADE IN CHINA markings all over it, an HP9 in 14" can be found for about $240 new if you shop around. Same gun as a grizzly, just not finished quite as well and with uglier markings.

Or just use a shot Norinco barrel on a used 870. No makings on them whatsoever. Save up and find a old Wingmaster.

Everyone advises that but"old wingmasters" in nice shape are harder to come by every day and are less cheap than ever before.

3 days ago one on EE for 250, I missed it by 1 minute, They come up all the time in the local hunting group on FB.

I picked up a 870 Wingmaster at the Orangeville gun show for $300.00 a couple of weeks ago. It functions well and I just started the tear-down with no ugly surprises.
