Cheapest place to buy Winchester Model 70?

Like the title says, who is the cheapest place for a new win model 70? Was going to get the super grade. I have a couple of local prices but am not sure who out west or otherwise is a winchester dealer.

Any place to call on this one? Thanks
 
I would buy local if only for the issue of future problems
(i hope you have none) i bought from my local sports and hunting store in
100 mile House and his price was only thirty dollars more that WSS in Kamloops BC and the Kamloops store is 2hrs from my place.

I bought mine from Fishers hardware in Vernon BC. They beat wholesale by close to $100.00. I decided I was going to buy from them for the service before I even knew their price. A great price was just a bonus to their great service.
 
Yeah local its Epps and a few others, if I buy out of province there can be no PST. Even with Epps I pay shipping unless I pick it up which is more cash with the price of gas.

There is no tax savings now, with the HST. Under the HST tax rules, out-of-province businesses are supposed to charge you according to your province's taxes, not theirs.

Yeah I was planning on buying a scope off him, I contacted him numerous times and asked for info on how to send my order in, but got no response. Sort of put me off dealing with him as others reply to messages. To bad, it wouldve been an easy sale for him as so many of you have given him a good reputation.

I think your best option is just to call Clay. I have found that email is great, but sometimes there is issues(cyberspace) were people actually just don't get the emails or it get's sent to the Junk folder and seeming like they are ignoring you. When I actually have a question or want to order something I always call. I think computers are great tools but I don't rely on them. I have dealt with Clay several times and had nothing but top notch service. You won't be disappointed.
 
I love the model 70. Your best bet is to look for used. There are many models, and chamgerings that arent available now that were in the past. This way you save taxes, and more.

I got a used model 70 in 280 for a bit over half what it would have cost me for new and 280 is not available in a new model.

Yeah thats why I am interested in the new one as its close to the old pre 64, other than I think the original had a 1 piece bolt and the new one is 2 piece.

That's really odd. I've dealt with him a couple times, and kicked the tires a couple more. He responded quite promptly and answered ALL of my questions (all communications via PM on CGN). The first time I dealt with him was the fastest purchase, shipping, receiving I've ever been through. Give him another try, I'd be surprised if you were dissapointed again, I'd even eat my hat! :)

If memory serves me right you are in Hamilton or thereabouts. In the future you may want to consider Gobles in London. They have a website and have monthly ads that they post. Not a big Gobles fan but sometimes they have good prices on certain items. I saw a model 70 there a month or two ago in
.270 and I believe it was $659.

Yeah I have never been to Gobles, I should take a drive out there.

Got a .270 Winchester in the Super Grade. I like the idea that its an old round from 1923. I wont buy any of this new short magnum or other magnum type rounds, they are not for me. :p
