You can do it without an SVT wrench. Remove the handguard and the piston cylinder/rod assembly. Loosen off the piston with a box end or adjustable wrench and you can turn the regulator by hand.
Be careful the regulator doesn't move out of alignment when you re-tighten the piston.

Does anyone have any recommendations.. I don't care if it is a repro, I just need to adjust my gas tube
Stevo's right, you don't actually need the tool. You just need an 8mm wrench, takes like 30 seconds to reset it after you do it a few times.
