My buddy just bought one from www.sirmailorder.com for $399 after tax and shipping. This is just for the black synthetic one, I would contact them to see what they have.

I would try SIR.
They were $359.00 when I bought one in the fall. Plus there was a $50 mail in rebate which brought it down to $300 (they gave me a $59 rebate instead of $50 for some reason). I don't know if Remington still has the rebate deal going.

FM the mail in rebate ended Dec 28th, and SIR were out of stock on the 870 at the time.
They have the synthetic for $359 (Cat. No. 440182) and Super for $379 (Cat. No. 440212).
I can't tell the difference between them. Seems to be the same gun.
Have emailed them on stock availability.

I wonder if they would sell me the cheap version....

Not sure what barrel length you are looking for, but Shooters Choice in Kitchener has the 18 inch synthetic with the magazine extension in stock for $360. They had 2 last time I checked. I think this is the only version of the 870 they have though, so if looking for a longer barrell best try your other sources.
