Hi All,

Getting started in reloading (9mm & .270 Win), and after much research, have decided on a Lee Loadmaster.

I've been looking for the cheapest price, and so far have only come up with Wholesale Sports at $339.99. Higginson's price was considerably more. Anyone know of a cheaper place?

I was gonna order one from the States and get my folks to bring it back for me (they're in Texas right now), but it's damn near impossible to get an outfit to sell me one, what with all this "export permit" B.S. Would be $199.99 USD from there, but with the exchange, 8.125% tax, shipping & export permit fees and all, it still works out to over $300 CDN, so it's hardly worth the hassle. Besides, my folks won't be back for over a month, and I'm chompin' at the bit to get going!;) I'm going to Calgary next week & I could pick one up while I'm at Wholesale Sports & avoid the shipping costs.

So, any ideas about where else to get one for a better price? I don't see 'em in the S.I.R. catalog, nor in the Russel Sports catalog - doesn't look like LeBaron stocks 'em either. Who else sell Lee reloading equipment, either in person in Calgary, or by mail??

Thanks guys!

Go to the Lee website. They have a "surplus items" section. There are ofter many loadmasters listed as "seconds" for cheap.

I just checked. They have 15 units listed at $225US each.

You might want to check if Wholesale Calgary will be open. They are going to be shut down for a few days to move to the new location very soon.

Export permit for a reloading machine.....I don't think so. There are no permits required on the Canadian side....they only collect taxes if you are over your alloted amount. U.S. don't even stop you on the way back. Can't believe how anal they are getting. Osama is going to export a reloading press!
