The Stevens 200 has not been discontinued (at least as of this year). You'll see rifle/scope packages for around the same price as the Savage Axis, so $400ish.
As for the cheapest, I wouldn't get to hung up about that. See what your LGS has them for. If they're within $20 or $25 of the cheapest one you can find on-line, just get it. You'll have it immediately, you can inspect it in the store, and you won't have to pay for shipping. If your LGS is much more expensive, try to swing a deal with them like seeing if they'll throw in a box of ammo.

Just to be clear. You are looking for a specific acliber that you are not finding right? Because when I look on there website Cabalas has everything but 223 and 243. They were on sale for cyber Monday for $300, but the 223 was sold out already and shortly after going on sale the 243 was no longer available. I find it hard to believe they will be discontinued, but time will tell.
