Hey all,
According to all apparences I will indeed own a Black Special in the next days :D and I wish to scope it somehow. The problem is, the gun kinda vaccum cleaned my wallet and I've left only a few green bills for a scope. I've been looking at a Tasco varmint 6-24 Illuminated Mil-Dot. Before you jump on me, I want to say this sweet rifle will sport a nightforce or a similar scope when I get the dough but in the meantime I want to be able to play with it before the winter comes. So I am calling to you guys for your opinions on a CHEAP scope that will last me for 8-10 months and serve me well enough. Please keep your suggestions under well under the 200$ range and even better would be 100 or so bucks.

A used Bushnell 10X Mildot? I think (!) they're under $250 new. I'd rather have almost any used 3200 than that Tasco.

Lot's of decent 3-9x40 scopes available used at that price as well. Not tacti-cool maybe, but will put your bullets where you want while you save up.

Have fun with the Black Special, nice gun!

Luepold rifleman 3-9x40mm ... $250 at most gunstores.

lifetime warrenty with canadian service depot with proven turnaround time. the thing that is going to throw you for a loop is the scope rings unless yours is a black special target version....

P&D has rings to fit, believe they are super high....

Check out Ultimate Arms on eBay

I have bought quite a few items from them...you have to call them though once you have won, as they do not take payment from Canada on the site.

Seems like the Leopold clones gets pretty good reviews, maybie going this route, unless my gunstore can hook me up with something brand name. Any impressions on these?

Slowbalt,
Any money spent on the cheapest scopes is usually wasted. If you picked up a used Leupold you would find it easy to get your money back later. That makes it free.
I ran a 4.5-14 VX111 LR on my Black special when I still had it.
