Seen a couple of Martini's for $600-$700 and a couple of
Turk Mausers for $200
Not alot at all for Lee Enfields . Mostly bubba's and one Ishy .410 .
A more than normal amount of bubba'd P14 / M17 's
I talked to a fella with an interesting No4Mk11 which he converted to 7.62nato fed by a Sterling mag. The barrel was shortened ( by a prior owner )and he fitted a M14 prong type flash hider on it ! I thought it was very well done

I couldn't walk out without something tho..;)

I couldn't find a time posted for the event, so I went at 2:30pm. There were no cars outside the CAW hall, no signs, no hours posted, nothing. Was it at night?

Figuring that the show was a bust I went to the Wal-Mart in Leamington and picked up some .303 Brit on the discount rack, as well as some .22lr dynapoints.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Nice bayonet ,we need more milsurp edged weapons on the knife side of the board guys.
It is a Sterling 308 mag I belive Sterling is a company as well as a subgun.
There is a 308 enfield on another thread that has a sterling mag and pics.

Sterling Engineering made a 7.62 conversion kit for the No4 in the early 60s. They made a 5.56 rifle, a .38 revolver as well as the SMG.

It was a Sterling magazine for the .308 conversion , but I'm not sure about the entire conv. kit. . The rifle had the rear handguard and cut down forestock which made it look like an L42 kinda. The prong flashider gave it a pretty cool look ....I wanted to shoot it ..lol

Tyler...That gunshow started at 8;00 am until 12noon. They usually are only a 4 hour show/sale. Same hours for the gunshows in Mt Brydges (next show-Feb.25)

I need to find out more on the bayo.
It was labeled as a k98/22 from WW11 . I don't know what the 22 is refering to . It fits my '44 byf 98 tho.

Here's some picts of the bayo
...any info on it fellas ?

Was that you I was talking to at the Chatham show? :) That was me and that was my rifle. It's an FNC1 flash hider btw, takes the C1 bayonet.
It has a Canadian Arsenals barrel, 7.62 extractor, Sterling mag.

Actually, I talked to a few people about the rifle...were you vending or walking around? Were you the guy with a Long Branch that you change the wood around on?

Wow, talk about crappy hours. Oh well.

Is that ever a sharp looking rifle Cantom. My dream bubba is very close to that with a shorter barrel and black synthetic stock with a comb. The FN flash hider and C1 bayo is a very cool touch.

Thanks! I was amazed how well it turned out...I bought a sporter with a beauty like new action but a dark bore and changed it around.

The C1 hider was suggested by Sgt. Striker btw.

Hi there I'm new to all of this, can anyone out there help me find a good canadian source for Mauser actions?

The exchange forum with a Want To Buy will do it;)

I went to Chattam twice and I refuse to go from there on. It's not as lame as the one in Windsor, but not far either. I'm glad you guys had a good time.

About the hours... you don't usually need more than 15 minutes to do the whole tour, the only fun would be talking to the guys, and that's it :runaway:

Cantom,
Yupper...I was the fella talking to you about the Longbranch and abit about my 2A1.
We shoulda sat down for a coffee and a chat .
I don't mind going to those lil' gunshows . There's always the "same old " but there's usually something that catches my eye .
The last show in Chatham , just before Christmas , I found 40rds of 8mmMauser milsurp( $20) and a decent Turk Mauser for $60...made my day...lol

Yeah, if I'd known it was you Timberlord I would have bought you a coffee...sometimes getting off the beaten track is worth it...btw, did you see that Ross Sporter? I'm still wondering if I should have bought that...it was in almost perfect shape, albeit cut down and sportered...
Last time I went to Chatham I got a bunch of stuff, including some 7.62 ammo at .25 cents a round...this time there wasn't as much to get, disappointing. I bought one thing, a railway switch key. Ho hum.

If you want to fire that rifle some time no problemo.

"...talk about crappy hours..." Yep. However, all gun shows in Southern Ontario run at those hours. It has always amazed me that given the population of the area, gun shows run Sunday's from 8 'til noon, every other month or so, but the Rochester, N.Y. show runs for a whole weekend.

It's the people that vend at the shows, they're human too and only want to devote a certain portion of their busy weekend to a gun show. The guys in Rochester or other big US gunshows are more like an actual business.

That Ross sporter just about snagged me . I checked it out a few times...lol
I still have 200rds of 7.62n ammo from a few shows past ...;) Not much at all for ammo at this last show that I seen .
The .303brit ammo of any kind is really scarce at these shows.:runaway: But , I did find some old Imperial .303brit fodder , awhile back at a MountBrydges show, which I "think" has 215gr pills.
How do I find out for sure ? wiegh it ?

Except for the St. Catharines gun show: 6pm to 10pm.

Any others?
