To the range today, with Looky and his long time friend Bart, a member of our club. (Looky was the guest!)
Put on a scope, an old fixed four power 4x40 Tasco made in Japan, a very bright scope. Rifle was an old Savage 340 in 30-30 calibre.
Put the target up at 30 yards, hit around the bottom of the aiming mark, changed the scope setting after every shot, until the one in upper right. I brought the setting down a bit and left, marked off all the former hits, then fired the three shots shown, into the clover leaf. My loads were a 170 grain standard 30-30 type bullets, with 32 grains of IMR3031 powder.
The widest two are under quarter inch, making the three shot group in the area of .75 MOA.

Next I took out my Marlin in 35 Remington, made in 1957. Took a rest and fired two shots at the target shown. The scope on this was an El Paso Texas Weaver K3, a fixed 3 power.
Only fired two shots with my 200 grain loads, also with 3031 powder and they are shown on the next target.
Tried to go to 100 yards, but the fog was so thick it obscured my target, so I didn't shoot, but Bart and Looky did.
All in all, I was quite happy the way the old rifles performed with the old scopes, lined up with my old eyes!

Well Mr H, I made it home in one piece and have concluded that my shooting today
was minute of fog.
I need to seriously consider doing the right eye.
Maybe put a patch over the darn thing for better results.

Fun to be had by threes though.
