Checkout how much AR barrels move when fired

Oh yeah, I think I've heard of almost 6" muzzle movement on one particularly long and thin barrel.

Arrows do the same thing in flight, they wobble around like jumping salmon.

Bridges too, some more noticably than others. Creepy to see a bridge undulate.

It's part of the whole "long barrel for increased velocity for better accuracy" versus "shorter barrel for less barrel movement for better accuracy". Then there's the "pressure point in the forestock for better accuracy" thing as well. There's a whole mess of things that come into play.

I think RatedRR has some slowmo videos that show how his .50 cal barrels move.

The first time I watched Top Shot it blew my miond just how much whip you get out of a barrel when you see it in slow mo!
Hard to believe you could hit anything with the barrel moving that much.

If you guys think that is cool, do some research on barrel movement. What you see in those video's shows only a small portion of how the barrel moves. It's fascinating stuff.

P.S. I'm disappointed DD didn't have Pincus jump over hay bales again. They missed a great opportunity to showcase his his tactical hay bale techniques.
