Nice workmanship. Did you build the stock as well?

Is that a Robland sliding table on your saw? Looks like the same one I have on my General.

Good woodworking skills.
Why not just make a complete, one piece, cheek rest of the correct height?
I think you'll find that the original contour on the Klinsky cheek rest can be improved upon by quite a bit.

If you want that purplehheart to stay that color, you need to finish it with something that protects it against UV. It'll fade to a brown color. I know guys who use it all the time, and they treat it with Armor All.

On a side note, I applaud your enthusiasm...and am jealous of the amount of time you give to your hobby. You've struck a balance in the force. :)

I'm the first to go "function over form"...You've topped both!

Not only a very dense wood, but pretty too. Nice contrast with the lighter base-wood of your stock. You spent more than a minute, or two mating them (good job).

How do the works feel? You'll be popping bottle-caps at 500 now instead of the HUGE targets before! (please laugh)
