I've been scouring the net for military pics of the VZ 58 and AK47, especially of rifles with scopes - and only one of them was of a rifle with a cheek rest:
Every other pic, especially actual action shots of soldiers using the rifle in battle or on the field shows regular butt stocks without a cheek rest.
So are we to say that cheek rests are unnecessary luxuries? They're only useful for sniper rifles, but not for assault rifles? What's the lesson here?
Just wondering if I should bother getting a Fab Defence butt stock with adjustable cheek rest for my 58, but I noticed the adjustment knob could catch on something.
thanks!
