Hey guys~not sure whether the question belongs elsewhere or not...but...maybe someone here can help me come up with a solution. (i.e., not a new, big $ stock!)

I recently upgraded to a 50mm obj. and even at 44mm previously, I think my Savage 10 could have benefited from a cheek riser. Now it's a "must have" in my opinion. Until now, I've used one of those cheap, black, slip-on elasticized things that have shell holders on the right side. I use the gun to varmint hunt so it's a feature I find very convenient, especially since I don't leave brass in the field as a frugal reloader. :) Anyhow, in a weak moment, I bought a leather "Triple K" cheek riser at Cabela's today and thought "I can do without the shell holder" but then one of the grommets tore out while installing it anyway. Back that thing goes, but I'm going to abandon that idea anyway.

So....what's out there that will add about 3/4"+ rise, hold some ammo...and not look ridiculous? OK, I get that they all kind of do...however..."necessity is the mother" sort of situation here. Don't mind spending little to get something decent, but I'd prefer to buy it in Canada. Even better from a CGN sponsor.

Tourbon is a brand sold in Europe via china.....try Alliex.
Pretty good.comes with three height shims of EVA.

I have one of these, bought off of amazon. I was very impressed. rubber backed non slip velcro, three straps for retention on the underside and an elastic on the back. Small pocket and shell holders on the outside. Worth the 35 or so dollars and then some.

Blackhawk is close to the Eagle Industries cheekpiece that's no longer available. If you are in the YYC area check out Seals Action Gear for their cheekpiece....

I have all of them. Then again once I landed my AI AX .308 and my Ruger PR and my Remmy M700 Magpul in .269; all the cheekpiece brands I mentioned could not fit these platforms. Ah Poop...

Cheers

I run a TacOps ammo pack with some layers of tape and foam underneath to get the right comb height, seems to work pretty well for me. The loops hold 7 cartridges and the pouch holds my allen and torx keys and a loop of paracord and a dime for bolt disassembly. Definitely not "pretty" though.

I'm a big fan of these. Quality is excellent, and they make them left or right handed, for shotgun rifle or combo guns, in brown and black. You can just order one that's close and tell them which variation you want in a separate note. $30 or $35 CAN shipped. Very reasonable considering the workmanship and quality. I've probably ordered six of these for myself or friends.

You won't get 3/4" of padding on a standard one, could probably ask for extra when you order.

+1 for the triad tactical stock packs. I have a couple of them and have run them on a number of different tactical and hunting style rifles and think they are hard to beat. The cheek piece is a nice suede like material which isn't cold on the face like some of he rubberized type.

I picked up an eagle cheekrest of the E.E and am very happy with it . I used it on one of my M-305,s and now I am using it on my marlin 45-70.
I had to use a bit of foam under the cheekrest to get a bit higher cheekweld though.

Wonder how much lift these cheapo one would offer.
