Looking for ideas for a cheek riser for the crappy factory savage stock for a mark 11 fv
Really like the kydex adjustable but thought I'd ask for ideas first before I start shopping

I just put an tourbon cheek riser on my tikka t1x, slides on and you have three sizes of foam inserts to adjust. Was $50 on Amazon. Has cartridge slots on the side that are a bit big for 22lr but I pulled the stitching on a couple and the spare mag sits in nicely. It’s definitely bulkier then the Kydex bolt on thing but I didn’t have to drill holes and it was on a different rifle before being moved to this one. So I think I got my moneys worth. If you want to go super cheap, I have just taped a piece of foam to a synthetic stock before, it served its purpose hahaha

I was looking at those but I don't think brown leather suits a cheap black synthetic stock. Id also like to avoid the bubba trix so taping foam is out lol

I'm trying to resist the urge of buying another full chassis

GO Kydex ++

I've got a B22-FV I've had for a couple years. The stock is very similar to the MKII. At first I had one of the velcro-on riser-pads but it was really embarrasing in public. This Winter I got a couple Kydex ones from Amazon, about $40 each. Also got a better scope - Covenant-4 6-24x50 FFP-SF. One riser is now on my B22, the other is waiting for 'the right partner' :rolleyes: - maybe one of my short SGs to rise for a reflex dot. :confused:
Here's b4 & B-now.

I used a 6" piece of that grey 'pipe foam' and wrapped in duct tape, it was free and worked like a charm until I upgraded in into an MDT chassis.

Hi brybenn -
One cheap, easy, and non-destructive way I've used with low-riser plastic Savage rimfire and centerfire stocks is to take slices of a med density foam about 4"x1" and pile 2-3 of them on the comb. You can use a black (or other color) sport tensor bandage to hold it down. When you stretch it over the foam and stock, the rubbery material holds very well.

You can make it as high as you need. It's not permanent but stays on extremely well.

For the foam, I've bought cheap foam construction knee pads from the dollar store! Sometimes a dab of silicone on the foam will help keep it steady on the stock, but not really needed.

If you decide to sell the rifle, just unwrap the tensor and take off the foam.

Hope this helps!
Cheers
