Cheek Riser

Cut the man some slack. It works! If you don't fiddle with these rifles, you won't hit ####. I have friends lining me up to help them zero their sights. All because they haven't even tried to learn how to do it themselves. Iron can reach out and touch some distant targets with his set up, so it works. Living out west where a yugo is a prized commodity, I might not have done that model in. But I have to disagree with the blanket statement that norcs can't hit anything. They may take some tuning before you can see some potetial but I believe the potential is there. Mine work!
I have had trouble in one rifle where I put the lighter Wolf hammer spring in. I get a lot of FTF with shallow dimpled primers(they fire second time) due to I assume the softer hammer blow and milsurp ball. Which is tooo bad as the new spring makes the trigger feel way better. Any ideas beside non milsurp ammo seeing I just got my third crate opened.(did I jack my own thread?)

SKS not a weapon but a work of art

Let's keep this in perspective: first picture - praiseworthy; and second picture - gag reflex-overload.

Did anyone else notice the high speed black electrical tape "insulating" the handgrip for increased shooter comfort? Or, the brass sheet reinforcements? But maybe I just have a strong stomach.

Must be a Lever Arms Special Ops Home Depot version. :D

I think I am done with this thread! It is pointless. Majority tuned to a completely different frequency.

Just a suggestion for you guys:

Next time have a SKS fashion show at you range to model your fashion pieces,

or put your SKS rifles on pedestals and while having wine and cheese discuss what mataphors Simonov had in mind when he sculpted SKS. Is the sleek lines of the butt end and the mean looking muzzle and gas system were meant to convey the duality of life and death!

Ironsight,
When you post a pic on CGN you will receive comments. Obviously, your opinion of your rifle may be different from others. If you want to hear good comments, chances are there'll be some negative ones as well.

Many folks view the Yugo SKS's as collectible milsurps and that will come out anytime a modified rifle is presented for comment.

Dear Stevo,
I appreciate your feedback but I am aware of that fact and see in myself the capacity to discuss the cons and pros of a topic logically. But vulgar, shallow and equally pointless comments about the electrical rubber tape and home depot special ops points to the lack of etiquette and I'd rather not to pursue. I removed the picture and my apologies goes to the participants in this discussion with their intelligent feedbacks either positive or negative. Also my apologies goes to the people who view YugoSKS rifles as collectibles. Unfortunately, I don't view them as precious items, just tools in forms of weapons that can be improved by experimentation and I do as my hobby. Thanks again for your comments.:)

Hey Voodooman, popped back in eh? Long time no see on this forum. Sorry to hear about Ironsides feelings. When you come up with a prototype, you're sure to meet some resistance. You have to be ready to take the flak.Like I said earlier, if it works for you then it is a success. I wouldn't worry what other people say, and after all is said and done, it's still just an SKS

Ironsight I had no idea this was built by a fellow Member, and I was directing my comments in jest. While it is not my personal taste, I have to give you two thumbs up for creativity. :)

Thanks guys. Actually you gave a perspective that I was completely neglecting since I was so wound up with getting it to work perfectly the way I wanted. I have to do something about its Aesthetic aspect and appearance. I will pay attention to the apearance of the next stock which will be built on a synthetic paltform. This not so attractive one will be the subject of the torture tests.:)

Why did you remove the pic? Unfortunately I'm one of those bastards who has no morals regarding the hacking up a perfictly good milsurp. I really wanna see what you came up with.
