I finally am breaking down and admitting a chest rig for my CZ is probably better than my tradition tac vest I use for ARs.
Any recommendations for chest rigs that won't break the piggy bank?

I suppose it is time to graduate from a cargo tie down and a couple of four mag surplus pouches.
In the meantime until I achieve my svelte Chippendale Dancer goal, "Bring me Han Solo and the Wookie."

FWIW, getting unfat (270 to a current 218 lbs) has been one of the best things I've ever done for my shooting, let alone self in general. I've used all of these and boy have they worked for me, especially the Couch to 5K program.

If you're in Ottawa or Montreal, tell you what: sign up for a Spartan Sprint this summer and I'll run it with you: http://www.spartanrace.com/

Thanks Dad that's perfect.
Six mags and another couple of pockets too.
Someone pm'ed me about a near identical one at Marstar too.
Thank you.:D

RDElliot, it didn't come on in one day, it isn't coming off in a day either.
Run? Let's not be too ambitious,,,. One thing at a time.:p

Strange thing, everyone supports me to lose weight, no one wants to be near while I'm doing it though???

Cheers Everyone

Hey, I didn't say it would be easy, I said it would be worth it :).

But seriously, dude, check out the Spartan Race folks. If Chris Davis can finish a Spartan, so can you:

I'm planning both the Montreal and Ottawa Spartan Sprints this year. Offer to run one with you remains on the table...

http://762tactical.com/accessories/bandoleer.html this is what I'm using and I'd highly recommend it. much more practical than a chest rig or tac vest. holds 6 mags easily. Just make sure you get the extra strap so u can secure it to your body nice and tight. I put the second strap on the top part as well tho so the mags sit a little lower. It's much easier to pull out and put back your mags when they are sitting under your left arm would take it over a chest rig any day.

It's over your $100 number but it's hard to beat the OSOE PALS Micro Rig with OSOE stacked mag pouches.

This old pic shows two of the stacked mag pouches and a Maxpedition admin pouch. I've got it setup now with 3 of the mag pouches and a HSGI med pouch. The mag pouches hold AR and VZ mags. They're velcro lined so you can stick velcro on your mags to hold them in if you don't want to use the bungee retention. With a chunk of foam stuck in the bottom, they're excellent for LAR mags, too.

The original OSOE AK/M4 Micro Rig will hold 4 VZ mags and is $100 at Dave's. All the OSOE gear is top-notch.
