I have the NR CZ858 and love it.

It's the closest thing looks-wise to an AK that Canadian civilians can legally shoot, and it's accurate enough. Plus, it eats cheap ammo and is a breeze to take down and clean.

I already have an AR in .223 so I don't really need or want another .223 firearm.

I have owned both - and I prefer the .223. Here is why. I like that the .223 ammo is non-corrosive for obvious reasons. I do not want to have to clean a gun every time I shoot it. I always use a bore snake, but for 7.62X39 in corrosive, that doesn't cut it. Accuracy - everyone has said these, and they are debatable points at best. My number one reason is the 10 round LAR-15 mags, compatible with both an AR and the VZ. I like to shoot a gun more than 5 times without reloading. The LAR-15 mags (especially with the coupler) really increase the fun factor. I am not sure if there is a 10 round 7.62X39 option for these or not.

I don't own one, but I probably will eventually. A 7.62 for sure for the same reason I got a 1911 in 45acp. Different calibers are cool but the original is usually well tough out as is.
VZ58 scream steel case surplus for me.

I'm waiting for csa vz 58 11.75 to transfer to my name. I'm not a fan of non restricted 868's because the barrel is just too long for the type of gun it is.
